47.7.8 FIFOs

The MCSPI includes two FIFOs which can be enabled/disabled using MCSPI_CR.FIFOEN/FIFODIS. The MCSPI must be disabled (MCSPI_CR.SPIDIS) before enabling or disabling the MCSPI FIFOs.

Writing MCSPI_CR.FIFOEN to ‘1’ enables a 8-data Transmit FIFO and a 8-data Receive FIFO.

It is possible to write or to read single or multiple data in the same access to MCSPI_TDR/RDR. See Single Data Mode and Multiple Data Mode.
