5.3.8 Parent Loss Detection

This section describes the power profile of Mi-Wi P2P Star sleeping device during the detection of a parent loss. The following figure illustrates the profile captured during a node trying to transmit an indirect data request to its parent and not receiving a MAC ACK for the same. As a result, the sleeping device retries three times. After failing to reach the parent for MAX_LINK_STATUS_FAILURES, the sleeping device detects a parent loss and transmits the P2P connection request to scan for any nearby nodes for joining to the network.
