3.14 Spanning Tree Configuration

The Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), along with its variations such as RSTP and MSTP, is used to prevent potential Network loops which, without STP, would cause broadcast storms. It also offers a redundant path from switch to switch or from path to path over multiple switches by supporting the network loops under the control of STP.
