2.19.11 SERCOM-USART: 32-bit Extension Mode
When the 32-bit Extension mode is enabled and data to be sent are not in multiples of 4 bytes, which means the length counter must be enabled, additional bytes will be sent over the line.
Work Around:
Use any one of the following work arounds:
- Write the Inter-Character Spacing bits (CTRLC.ICSPACE) to a non-zero-value.
- Do not use the length counter in firmware by keeping the data to be sent in multiples of 4 bytes.
