9.1 About FlashPro®

FlashPro® is Microchip®’s programming software tool for IGLOO®, ProASIC3, SmartFusion, Fusion, ProASICPLUS, and ProASIC devices. The FlashPro software interface is consistent with other Microchip programming tools, enabling intuitive navigation and efficient workflow.

The FlashPro software includes the following features:
  • Supports modification of I/O states during programming
  • Supports automatic construction of device chains from scan‑chain operations
  • Supports importing non‑Microchip BSDL files for automatic chain construction
  • Supports direct programming and serialization of multiple devices in a single chain
  • Supports generation of single‑device STAPL files
  • Supports generation of single‑device SVF files
  • Supports generation of single‑device IEEE 1532 files
  • Supports generation of chain STAPL files
  • Supports generation of chain SVF files
  • Supports a single graphical user interface to control multiple FlashPro4/3/3X programmers for parallel programming
  • Supports 1.2 V programming for IGLOO devices
  • Supports device serialization for parallel programming
  • Includes a redesigned graphical user interface with a project manager for managing programming files and data
  • Provides enhanced In‑System Programming (ISP) support
Note: Parallel programming using FlashPro (USB/LPT1) or FlashPro Lite programmers is not supported.
