3.7 Power Management Circuit
The MCP16501 is a high-performance power management IC that provides three output voltages with maximum efficiency, compatible with Microchip’s eMPUs (Embedded Microprocessor Units) and associated DRAM memories. It is compatible with the SAMA5D2 Series, SAM9X60 and SAMA7G5 Series MPUs, which are supported by dedicated variants.
The MCP16501 integrates three DC-DC buck regulators and one auxiliary LDO, providing a comprehensive interface to the MPU.
All buck channels can support loads up to 1A and are 100% duty-cycle capable.

The MCP16501 is preset to supply all the voltage rails needed by the system:
- OUT1: 3.3V supplies the SAM9X75D2G I/O pads.
- OUT2: 1.35V supplies the SAM9X75D2G DDR3L pads (VDDIODDR).
- OUT3: 1.15V supplies the SAM9X75D2G core (VDDCORE).
