3.9.7 TX DSP Enable State Machine

The TX DSP enable state machine enables the modules needed for transmission. It expects a successful run of PLL lock as a prerequisite. The state machine switches on the TX DSP filters as configured in SSMCR. Possible filters are the Gauss filter, the preemphasis filter or the ASK shaping filter.

In addition, this state machine switches on the power amplifier biasing and the PA voltage supply for corresponding 5V applications.

After the TX DSP enable state machine is done, the RF front end is ready for transmission. As an option, the antenna-tuning state machine can be subsequently run to optimize the antenna output power (see Figure 3-39).
