14 High-Speed, 12-Bit Analog-to-Digital Converter
Note:
- This data sheet summarizes the features of the dsPIC33CDVL256MC506 family of devices. It is not intended to be a comprehensive reference source. To complement the information in this data sheet, refer to “12-Bit High-Speed, Multiple SARs A/D Converter (ADC)” (www.microchip.com/DS70005213) in the “dsPIC33/PIC24 Family Reference Manual”.
- Some registers and associated bits described in this section may not be available on all devices due to the number of implemented ADC channels. Refer to Table 1 for ADC channel availability on device variants.
dsPIC33CDVL256MC506 devices have a high-speed, 12-bit Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) that features a low conversion latency, high resolution and oversampling capabilities to improve performance in AC/DC and DC/DC power converters. The devices implement the ADC with one shared core.
The number of available channels and negative inputs is dependent on package size, as shown in Table 14-1.
| Package Type | External Inputs | Negative Inputs |
|---|---|---|
| 64-pin | AN0-AN19 | ANN0 |
| 48-pin | AN0-AN19 | ANN0 |
| 36-pin | AN0-AN6, AN8- AN17 | — |
| 28-pin | AN0-AN6, AN8-AN11, AN16-AN17 | — |
