11.2.1 Instructions for AC Mains Connection

  1. Verify that the external AC Power Supply (PS) is within the limits (see Table 17-3).
  2. Ensure both sides of the power cable are disconnected. One side of the power cable should be open with three terminal wires, the other side should be suitable AC mains plug.
  3. AC mains wiring includes a live (hot) wire, a neutral wire, and a ground wire. The colors can vary by country, but the common representation is as follows:
    OptionDescription
    Live (Hot) Black or brown
    Neutral White or blue
    Ground Green or bare copper
  4. Identify the AC mains wiring on the open side of the power cable.
  5. Use wire strippers to remove about 10 mm of the insulation from the ends of the wires.
  6. Connect the live wire to the live (+) terminal and tighten the screw.
  7. Connect the neutral wire to the neutral (-) terminal and tighten the screw.
  8. Connect the ground wire to the ground terminal and tighten the screw.
  9. Ensure all connections are tight and secure. Use electrical tape to cover any exposed wire ends.
  10. Once everything is connected and secured, turn the power back on at the main circuit breaker.
  11. Plug the power cable into an AC mains power source. Note that there is ON or OFF switch.
