12.14 Advertising Timing Parameters

In Auto Operation mode, the advertising timing parameters, along with the power-on standby time and disconnect standby time, define how often and how long the BM70/71 module advertises its presence. For more details on different advertising intervals, refer to the BM70/71 Bluetooth® Low Energy Module User’s Guide (DS50002542).

In Manual Operation mode, the external host MCU uses specific commands to control when and how often the IS187x device advertises its presence. The user can ignore the parameters when Manual Operation mode is active (see the following table). For more details, refer to the BM70/71 Bluetooth® Low Energy Module User’s Guide (DS50002542).

In Auto Operation mode, if programming values are not within the valid ranges, undefined device operation will result (see the following table).

Table 12-31. Fast Advertising Interval Parameter
ParameterValueParameter DescriptionLength
0x3D-0x3E0xXXXX
  • Valid range – 0x0020-0x4000
  • Stored in memory as Big Endian, 625 µs
2 bytes
Table 12-32. Reduced Power Advertising Interval Parameter
ParameterValueParameter DescriptionLength
0x3F-0x400xXXXX
  • 0x0408 – 645 ms
  • 0x04CC – 768 ms
  • 0x0601 – 961 ms
  • 0x06A8 – 1065 ms
  • x0816 – 1294 ms
  • Stored in memory as Big Endian
2 bytes
Table 12-33. Fast Advertising Timeout Parameter
ParameterValueParameter DescriptionLength
0x410xXX
  • 0x00 – Disabled, no timeout. Always use fast advertising interval.
Note: This can cause the IS187x device to consume more current.
  • 0x01-0xFF – Valid timeout range, unit is 10.24s
1 byte

Operational Mode

The IS187x device only uses the advertising timing parameters when working in Auto Operation mode.
