12.15 Battery Detection Parameters

The battery detection parameters help the user to detect and indicate when there is low battery voltage on the VBAT pin of the IS187x device (see the following table). This can be advantageous for applications that are running off a battery and are not equipped to detect this source voltage (possibly due to limited pin count) with the external host MCU. For more details, refer to the BM70/71 Bluetooth® Low Energy Module User’s Guide (DS50002542).

In Manual Operation mode, the external host MCU uses specific commands to get the status of the voltage by sensing the VBAT pin, allowing the external host MCU to take appropriate action. Therefore, use these parameters only when the IS187x device is in Auto Operation mode (see the following table).

If the device is in Auto Operation mode and programming values are not within the valid ranges, undefined device operation will result (see the following table).

If there is low battery voltage, the IS187x device enters into Shutdown mode after this time expires. For more details, refer to the BM70/71 Bluetooth® Low Energy Module User’s Guide (DS50002542).
