3.1 Basic Connection Requirements

Getting started with the PIC32AK1216GC41064 family devices requires attention to a minimal set of device pin connections before proceeding with development. The following pins must always be connected:

• All V_DD and V_SS power supply pins must be properly biased with required voltages (see Electrical Characteristics)
• All AV_DD and AV_SS analog supply pins must be properly biased regardless of which analog modules or components of the device are used (see Electrical Characteristics)
• MCLR pin is connected with V_DD and V_SS based on circuit or application needs
• PGCx/PGDx pins used for In-Circuit Serial Programming™ (ICSP™) and debugging purposes (see ICSP Pins)
• OSCI and OSCO pins when an external oscillator source is used (see External Oscillator Pins)
