27.4.2 Timer Mode

When CCSEL = 0 and MOD[3:0] = 0000, the module functions as a timer. There are two basic Timer modes, selected by the T32 bit (CCPxCON1[5]); these are shown in Table 27-13. In either mode, the timer can operate as a free-running timer/counter, operate synchronously with other modules, or be triggered by other modules or external events.
