14.20.1 Start the Offline Server and Open the Offline Server Window

There are several ways to start the offline server:

  • by selecting Offline Help > Open Offline Server in MPLAB X IDE
  • by checking File > Show on Application Started in the Offline Server window
  • by downloading a help file.

Once the server is started, selecting Offline Help > Open Offline Server will open the Offline Server window. That is:

  • If the server is started, the window will open.
  • If the server is not started, selecting this option will start the server (but not open the window.) Click the menu option again to open the window.

Once the window is open, there is a File menu option to start the server when MPLAB X IDE is started. That is:

  • If Show on Application Started is checked, the server will start when MPLAB X IDE is started.
  • If Show on Application Started in NOT checked (default), the server will NOT start when MPLAB X IDE is started.
