12.5.4 Use Preset Passkey Parameter

The use preset passkey parameter enables the IS187x device to use a pre-programmed passkey value for the passkey entry pairing method.
  • Enable – The user provides a six-digit passkey value (represented as ASCII characters) in the Passkey Value Parameter. For more details, refer to Passkey Value Parameter.
  • Disable – The passkey entry is the pairing method used during the pairing process, and the IS187x device generates a random six-digit value.

The IS187x device makes the external host MCU aware of the passkey value by sending the six-digit value using the appropriate command from the command set protocol. For more details, refer to the Bluetooth Core Specification (4.2), volume 3, part H.
