12.5.3 LE Secure Connections Mode Parameter

The LE Secure Connections mode parameter controls the features of the IS187x chip, which exposes to the peer device during the pairing process. During the pairing request process, the two peer devices exchange their features. Also, the pairing request process informs the two devices involved about their pairing methods and capabilities. By using this parameter, the external host MCU can control the features that the IS187x chip exchanges with the peer device during the pairing process. This is useful for applications with high level security requirements, by restricting peer devices that can pair with the IS187x chip based on their security capabilities. For more details, refer to the Bluetooth Core Specification (4.2), volume 3, part H, section 3.5.

If the link manager version parameter or pairing method parameter is set to ‘0’, ignore the value of this parameter. For more details, refer to Link Manager Version Parameter and the Paring Method Parameter.
