1.8.4.1 Use Event Counter

This section describes the procedure to add a trigger signal (coutA[7]) to Live Probe to activate the event counter to count the rising edge transitions of that signal.

Follow these steps to activate the trigger counter:

  1. Go to the Live Probes tab, and enter *coutA* in the filter box, then click Search.
  2. Select coutA [7] to Cout[0] and click Add, as shown in the following figure.

    coutA [7] is used as the hardware break point trigger.

  3. Select coutA [7]: Q, then click Assign to Channel A.
  4. Click Activate Event Counter.
  5. The count is updated every second and is displayed as Total Events.
  6. Click Stop button to stop counting, as shown in the following figure.
Important: When the Event Counter is running, only the Stop button is enabled.
