2.1 Basic Connection Requirements

Getting started with the dsPIC33CK256MC006 family of devices requires attention to a minimal set of device pin connections before proceeding with development. The following is a list of pin names that must always be connected:

• All V_DD and V_SS pins 
(see Decoupling Capacitors)
• All AV_DD and AV_SS pins, regardless of whether the ADC module is used or not (see Decoupling Capacitors)
• MCLR pin 
(see Master Clear (MCLR) Pin)
• PGCx/PGDx pins, used for In-Circuit Serial Programming™ (ICSP™) and debugging purposes (see ICSP Pins)
• OSCI and OSCO pins, 
when an external oscillator source is used (see External Oscillator Pins)
