DTE to DCE Configuration

When interfacing a DTE device to a DCE device, connect them as shown in Figure 20-12. The UxRTS output of the DTE is connected to the UxCTS input terminal of the DCE, and the UxDTR output of the DCE is connected to the UxDSR input of the DTE. This allows the DCE to tell the DTE when it is ready to receive data.
