2.2.11.3 Sampling Rate Calculation for Fusion

The inverse of the conversion time is the sampling rate for that channel. However, the sampling rate reported by ASB includes the time that the ASSC can process the data and assert another start conversion signal. This time is referred to as ‘turnaround time’. With no wait states, the ASSC takes 10 system clock cycles for turnaround time.

Therefore, in the case of Fusion, the sampling rate of a single channel is: 1 / ( ASSC turnaround time + channel conversion time ).

ASSC Turnaround Time
The turnaround time of the ASSC can increase depending on the number of comparison flags configured for a channel. As the number of flags increases, the ASSC requires additional processing time, which can reduce the maximum achievable sampling rate.
