2.2.11.1 Conversion Time Calculation

The ADC conversion time is the sum of the following components:

Tconv = Tsync_read + Tsample + Tdistrib + Tcal + Tsync_write

where:

  • Tsync_read = synchronization time for reading data = SYS_CLK
  • Tsync_write = synchronization time for writing data = SYS_CLK
The acquisition and hold time is defined as:
  • Tacquisition_hold = Tsample + (Tprescaler_settling or Tstrobe)
  • Tacquisition_hold = (2 + stc) × ADC_CLK

Additional timing components are defined as follows:

  • Tdistrib = charge distribution time

    Tdistrib = ADC_resolution × ADC_CLK

  • Tcal = calibration time

    Tcal = 2 × ADC_CLK
