10.1.12 Dual Data Rate (DDR) Register

A Dual Data Rate (DDR) Register is a specialized register that capture and/or transmit data on both rising and falling edges of the clock, enabling higher data throughput.

Supported Families

The following is a list of the supported families:
  • IGLOO®
  • ProASIC®3
  • SmartFusion®
  • Fusion®

Key Features

A DDR Register has the following key features:
  • Parameterized for Data Width
  • Choice of input buffers
  • Choice of output buffers (ProASIC®3/E only)
  • Choice of bidirectional buffers (ProASIC®3/E only)

The core configurator software can generate Dual Data Rate Registers parameterized for a specific Data Width and with a choice of the type of input buffers.

In IGLOO®, ProASIC®3, SmartFusion® and Fusion devices the DDR Registers may also be combined with output buffers or bi-directional buffers.

The Bidirectional enable signal polarity (TriEN) is selectable.
