5.51 Enter Power-Down (PD)

The Enter Power-Down (PD) instruction places the device into a low-power consumption state, referred to as Power-Down mode.

While the device is in Power-Down mode, all instructions are ignored except the Release Power-Down instruction. To enter Power-Down mode, the host drives CE# low, issues the PD command (B9H) in SPI or QPI mode, and then drives CE# high. After CE# is driven high, a delay of TPD is required before the standby current (ISB) is reduced to the power-down current (IPD).

If the device is busy performing an internal erase or program operation, the Power-Down instruction is ignored. See Figure 5-47 and Figure 5-48 for the command sequences.
