5.6 Status Registers
The device provides three Status registers: Status Register 1, Status Register 2 and Status Register 3 (see Table 5-5, Table 5-6 and Table 5-7, respectively). The Status registers contain a combination of read-only Status bits and read/write Configuration bits. The read/write bits maintain both volatile and nonvolatile values. At power-up and following a hardware or software reset, the nonvolatile values are loaded into the corresponding Status registers. While the device remains powered on, any modification to either the volatile or nonvolatile value takes effect immediately, and the Status register reflects the updated value. The Write Status register instructions—Write Status Register 1 (WRSR1), Write Status Register 2 (WRSR2), Write Status Register 3 (WRSR3)—are used to update the volatile or nonvolatile values.
