5.2 Device Protection

The MC25VF256 features a software-based write protection scheme that allows selected memory blocks within the array to be protected as a group. In addition, the Write-Protect (WP#) pin, in conjunction with the SRP bit in Status Register 1, enables or disables protection and lockdown of the status register.
