5.6.2 Write Enable Latch (WEL)

The Write Enable Latch (WEL) bit is a read-only indicator of the internal write enable status. When WEL is set to 1, the device is enabled for write operations. When cleared to 0 (Reset), the device is not write-enabled and does not accept any program commands. The Write Enable Latch bit is automatically reset under the following conditions:

Power-up
Software/Hardware reset
Execution of the Write Disable (WRDI) instruction
Completion of any Page Program instruction
Completion of any Erase instruction
Completion of a Write Status Register instruction for a nonvolatile value
Completion of a Program/Erase Security Register instruction
