5.6.9 Complement Protect (CMP)

The Complement Protect (CMP) bit is a read/write bit in Status Register 2. When used in conjunction with the SEC, TB, BP2, BP1 and BP0 bits, it provides additional flexibility for array protection. Setting CMP to 1 reverses the protection set by the SEC, TB, BP2, BP1 and BP0 bits. For example, when CMP = 0, a top 64-Kbyte block may be protected while the remainder of the array is unprotected. When CMP = 1, that top 64-Kbyte block becomes unprotected, and the rest of the array becomes read-only. The default setting is CMP = 0.
